Abstract

The invention relates to an animal identifying device in the form of a strap fastened around a limb, preferably a rear limb, of the animal. The device includes a male portion (1) and a female portion (2). The female portion consists of an axially hollow head for receiving and irreversibly blocking a protruding lug (3) of the male portion. The male portion comprises a flexible strip bearing one or more lugs (3) that can be folded back towards the head, said flexible strip being moulded together with the head envelope having a central opening on its base for the passage of a lug that clicks into a conical spring (8) and having a central opening in its upper portion for the passage of a cap (12) defining a sealed housing for the lug. The head, and more precisely the outer envelope (6) thereof, encapsulates a circular buckle (10) with a central piercing receiving the spring (8) and the cap (12), in which is over-moulded a transponder (9) with an identification chip and an antenna.
