Abstract
An Al-Zn-Mg aluminum alloy which exhibits high strength, excellent toughness and high extrusion productivity and which is effectively improved particularly in axial crushing resistance, containing by mass Mg: 0.50 to 0.75%, Zn: 4.5 to 6.5%, Cu: 0.10 to 0.20%, Zr: 0.17 to 0.23%, Ti: 0.005 to 0.05%, Mn: 0.05% or below, Cr: 0.03% or below, Fe: 0.20% or below, and Si: 0.10% or below with the balance consisting of Al and unavoidable impurities.
