Abstract

A novel crosslinking polymer for producing a gel of PVLA while maintaining excellent properties thereof including biocompatibility and water solubility; a process for producing the polymer; and a use of the polymer. The crosslinking polymer is one obtained by reacting the N-p-vinylbenzyl-D-lactonamide represented by the formula (I): with a PEG derivative having a reactive double bond at each of two or more ends.
