Abstract

In an apparatus for the combustion of solid fuel elements (5), in particular of elongate fuel compacts having a round or polygonal cross section with at least five edges, comprising a combustion chamber (2) and a storage space (3) for storing a plurality of fuel elements (5), a fuel supply is provided for automatically supplying in each case one fuel element (5) from the storage space (3) into the combustion chamber (2).
