Abstract
バックライト装置は、面光源と、レンチキュラレンズシート31と、拡散シート32とを備える。面光源は、互いに並設される複数の線光源を含む。レンチキュラレンズシート31は、面光源上に敷設される。レンチキュラレンズシート31は、線光源の並設方向に並設された複数のシリンドリカルレンズと、各々が隣り合うシリンドリカルレンズの間に形成される複数の平坦部とを備える。複数のシリンドリカルレンズのピッチPcと、平坦部の幅Wfと、シリンドリカルレンズの高さHcとは、式(1)及び式(2)を満たす。拡散シート32は、シリンドリカルレンズ上に敷設され、70~80%のヘイズを有する。そのため、バックライト装置は、輝度ムラを抑制でき、かつ、所定軸方向の輝度の視野角依存性の幅を広く維持できる。 1/16≦Wf/Pc<1/6 (1) 5/16≦Hc/Pc≦1/2 (2)
