Abstract

[PRPBLEMS] To improve the powdery feeling and smoothness of thin paper. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The problems can be solved by a thin paper containing 5 to 50wt% of a thin paper treatment based on the base paper and exhibiting an elongation of 10 to 20% in which the base paper has a metric basis weight of 10 to 35g/m2 per ply and the thin paper treatment contains a cationic surfactant, 0 to 3wt% of talc, and an ester of a fatty acid with an aliphatic alcohol and/or a fatty acid triglyceride and in which the ester is one of a monobasic fatty acid having 8 to 32 carbon atoms with a monohydric aliphatic alcohol having 3 to 20 carbon atoms and the triglyceride is a vegetable oil having fatty acid residues of 12 to 24 carbon atoms and an iodine number of 30 to 190.
