Abstract
Disclosed is an optical film which is excellent in heat resistance, optical transparency and surface lubricity, while being free from problems in manufacturing procedure. Also disclosed are a polarizing plate which uses such an optical film and has few appearance defects, and a high-quality image display device using such a polarizing plate. Specifically disclosed is an optical film containing a resin component mainly consisting of a (meth)acrylic resin and 0.1-1.5 parts by weight of a lubricant per 100 parts by weight of the resin component. The lubricant is composed of a metal salt.
