Abstract

 内視鏡画像から隆起形状を有する病変を検出する際の検出精度を従来に比べて向上させることが可能な医療用画像処理装置及び医療用画像処理方法を提供する。本発明の医療用画像処理装置は、生体組織の像の二次元画像に基づいて三次元モデルを推定する三次元モデル推定部と、二次元画像において、注目画素を中心とした複数の局所領域を設定する局所領域設定部と、複数の局所領域夫々に対応する三次元座標データを用いつつ、注目画素に相当するボクセルの形状特徴量を夫々算出する形状特徴量算出部と、複数の形状特徴量のうち、最適な三次元座標データ量を含む一の局所領域に応じて算出された形状特徴量を、注目画素に相当するボクセルの形状特徴量として選択する形状特徴量選択部と、形状特徴量選択部の選択結果に基づき、二次元画像内に存在する隆起形状を検出する隆起形状検出部と、を有する。
