Abstract

Disclosed is a low-cost optical film which enables a backlight unit to have both high luminance and uniformity. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing an optical film, which is characterized in that the optical film is a resin film formed by melt casting and having a film thickness of 40-500 μm. This method is further characterized in that the resin film contains 0.1-40% by mass of a light-diffusing particle, and at least one side of the resin film is provided with a luminance unevenness compensating dot by inkjet in accordance with luminance unevenness in the backlight.
