Abstract
L'invention porte sur un épurateur de gaz d'échappement de faible encombrement servant à traiter les particules présentes dans des gaz d'échappement contenant de l'oxygène, émis par un moteur thermique de type moteur alternatif, rotatif, à réaction ou turbine à gaz, à basse température, et cela à faible coût et avec une grande efficacité, aumoyen d'une méthode par voie sèche, sans adjonction d'ammoniac ou d'urée, même en l'absence de catalyseur. Le NOx, la suie et l'hydrure de carbone des gaz d'échappement peuvent être éliminés simultanément. L'épurateur comporte une cavité (7) dans laquelle les gaz sont introduits par un passage ad hoc, un filtre collecteur de particules (2) fait d'un matériau thermorésistant auquel est ajouté un matériau absorbeur de micro-ondes (4), et placé dans la cavité (7), une source de rayonnements électromagnétiques pulsés (9) d'une fréquence se situant dans la plage des GHz, et une antenne micro-ondes (8) alimentée avec lesdits rayonnements électromagnétiques et qui les émet dans la cavité (7) où ils sont confinés et mis en résonance.
