Abstract

Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition for a buffer, which comprises: a base oil comprising a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil; (A) 0.3 to 2 mass% of a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate having 7 to 12 carbon atoms in an alkyl group thereof; (B) 0.05 to 2 mass% of a fatty acid amide; and (C) 0.1 to 1 mass% of a monocyclic phenol antioxidant, wherein the content of an ester having a '-COO-' bond in the base oil is 0.6 mass% or less in terms of '-COO-' content. The lubricating oil composition can increase the frictional force at a sliding part between a piston rod and an oil seal, between a piston band and a cylinder or the like in a buffer while keeping good abrasion resistance and without deteriorating corrosion resistance and sludge resistance, and enables to achieve both of a high-level controllability/stability and a high-level ride quality.
