　陽極（３）と、陰極（４）と、陽極（３）と陰極（４）との間に設けられた有機薄膜層（５）と、を備えた有機ＥＬ素子（１）であって、有機薄膜層（５）は、１または複数の蛍光ホストと蛍光発光を示す２以上の蛍光ドーパントとを含み、１層または複数層で構成される蛍光発光層（５１）と、燐光ホストと赤色の燐光発光を示す燐光ドーパントとを含む燐光発光層（５２）と、を有し、蛍光ホストの少なくとも１種の最低励起三重項エネルギーギャップＥｇＦＨと、燐光ドーパントの最低励起三重項エネルギーギャップＥｇＰＤとが、ＥｇＰＤ＜ＥｇＦＨの関係を満たすことを特徴とする。
