Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système pour comprimer de l'air. Le procédé comprend les étapes suivantes qui consistent : (i) à comprimer de l'air dans un compresseur, (ii) à refroidir l'air comprimé tel qu'il est obtenu dans l'étape (i), (iii) à comprimer davantage l'air de l'étape (ii) dans un compresseur, (iv) à comprimer davantage au moins une partie de l'air comprimé tel qu'il est obtenu dans l'étape (iii) dans un compresseur d'appoint, le compresseur dans l'étape (i) étant un compresseur axial, les compresseurs des étapes (i) et (iii) étant entraînés par un entraînement commun et le compresseur d'appoint étant entraîné par un second entraînement séparé et les compresseurs des étapes (ii) et (iii) étant divisés en deux boîtiers individuels.
