Abstract
A motor controller and method for providing motor control having a microcontroller debounced switch that may operate as a user interface permitting selection between varied modes of operation. The motor controller has a means for detecting motor stall and providing constant motor performance independent of supply voltage. Embodiments include a polarity protecting means utilizing a low-side MOSFET switch, an overcurrent protecting means, a high- and low- voltage protecting means, a high- and low-temperature protecting means, and a MOSFET half H-bridge to provide control and braking. Other embodiments utilize a relay. Embodiments of the motor controller include a load-sensing means measuring back-EMF including a timeout means to cut motor power to prevent motor runaway. A method for providing Automatic Electric Guns with a motor controller.
