Abstract

La présente invention a trait à un électrolyte polymère pour une pile à combustible, lequel électrolyte polymère est pourvu d'un site à forte capacité d'échange d'ions et d'un haut niveau de conductivité. L'électrolyte polymère comprend un site d'électrolyte comprenant un groupe d'acide sulfonique introduit dans un site représenté par la formule (1) ou son dérivé et ayant une capacité d'échange d'ions non inférieure à 3,0 meq./g. -[Ar(R1)m(Ph)(X1)]n- (1) où Ar représente un anneau benzénique contenant 4 à 6 substituants ; Ph représente un groupe phényle lié à Ar ; X1 représente un groupe de liaison lié à Ar et sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant -O-, -S- et -NH-, et, lorsqu'une pluralité de X1 sont présents, ils peuvent être identiques ou différents ; R1 représente un substituant lié à Ar et est un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe aryle ayant entre 6 et 30 atomes de carbone, ou un groupe aryle substitué, et, lorsqu'une pluralité de R1 sont présents, ils peuvent être identiques ou différents ; n est un entier non inférieur à 1 et non supérieur à 10 000 ; et m est un entier de 1 à 3.
