Abstract

 触媒担体10は、希土類元素酸化物の一次粒子よりなる希土類元素酸化物微粒子(セリア微粒子11)と、アルミナの一次粒子よりなるアルミナ微粒子12と、バリウム化合物の一次粒子よりなるバリウム化合物微粒子13とが互いに混合してなる。希土類元素酸化物微粒子の一次粒子径は5nm以下であり、バリウム化合物微粒子13の一次粒子径は10nm以下である。この触媒担体10のうち実質的に希土類元素酸化物微粒子上に白金微粒子20が担持されている。酸化触媒としての白金及びNOx吸蔵材としてのバリウムの粒成長をより確実に抑制することができる。
