Abstract

 C:0.02%以上0.20%未満、Si:0.10%を超えて1.5%以下、Mn:0.8~2.2%、P:0.005~0.25%、S:0.40%を超えて0.8%以下、O:<0.010%、N≦0.025%、Ca:0.0003~0.005%を含有し、残部はFeと不純物からなり、不純物中のAl<0.005%、Mg<0.0003%、Ti≦0.002%、Zr≦0.002%、REM<0.0003%で、「2.0<Mn/S<4.0」及び「0.0005≦10Ca×Si≦0.050」を満たす低炭素硫黄快削鋼は、超硬工具を用いた仕上げ旋削加工の場合に、従来のPb非添加の低炭素快削鋼に比べて小さな仕上げ面粗さを有するとともに切り屑処理性にも優れる。この低炭素硫黄快削鋼は、Te≦0.05%、Bi≦0.15%、Sn≦0.5%のうちの1種以上及び/又はCr≦2.0%、Mo≦0.5%、V≦0.3%、Nb≦0.3%のうちの1種以上を含有してもよい。
