Abstract

L'invention concerne une prothèse fémorale qui peut être formée en tant que composant fémoral incorporant un matériau de base et un matériau d'articulation. Dans un mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, le matériau de base est un métal et le matériau d'articulation est un polymère. Plus précisément, le matériau de base procure de la force et de la rigidité au composant fémoral, alors que le matériau d'articulation entre en contact avec une prothèse tibiale ou le tibia naturel pendant l'articulation de la jointure. Dans un mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, le matériau d'articulation forme la surface d'articulation d'une ou de plusieurs parties de condyle du composant fémoral.
