Abstract

Disclosed is a prepreg obtained by impregnating a split yarn fabric, which serves as reinforcing fibers, with a polymer composition containing a cycloolefin monomer and a polymerization catalyst, and then polymerizing the composition. Also disclosed is a fiber-reinforced composite material obtained by curing the prepreg. The prepreg enables formation of a lightweight fiber-reinforced composite material which has excellent appearance, while exhibiting excellent mechanical strength and toughness. The fiber-reinforced composite material uses this prepreg.
