Abstract

 本発明のアクティブマトリクス型表示装置が、マトリクス状に配置された複数の画素(50)を備える。そして、その画素(50)のそれぞれが、供給される電流に応じて発光する発光素子(9)と、発光素子(9)の発光輝度に対応した電流信号である輝度信号を供給する信号線駆動回路(23)と接続された信号線(13)と、発光素子(9)に供給する前記輝度信号の電流値を制御するドライバー素子(6)と、信号線(13)を介して前記輝度信号がドライバー素子(6)に供給された場合に、ドライバー素子(6)のドレイン電極及びソース電極間に発生する電位差を輝度信号電圧として保持する輝度信号保持容量(8)と、ドライバー素子(6)の閾値電圧を検出し、その検出した閾値電圧に輝度信号保持容量8に保持されている輝度信号電圧を加算して得られる電圧をドライバー素子(6)のゲート電極に発現させる閾値電圧検出加算部(20)と、を具備している。
