Abstract

 非線形光学結晶に式(1)で表される周期dで正負の極性が交番する周期的分極反転構造を形成し、擬似位相整合を用いて周波数ωの入射光に対し周波数2ωの光を出力する波長変換素子(20)であって、上記非線形光学結晶がAlN等の窒化物単結晶で構成されていることを特徴とする。  d=mλ/[2(n2ω-nω )] (1)  式(1)において、mは位相整合の次数、λは入射光の波長、nωは周波数ωの光に対するAlN等の窒化物単結晶の屈折率、n2ωは周波数2ωの光に対するAlN等の窒化物単結晶の屈折率である。
