　表示される画像の明部と暗部のコントラスト比の向上を図ることができる光源装置と、この光源装置を備える表示装置を提供すること。 　表示パネル２０１が表示する画像の各部の明暗に対応して反射シート１１０，１１１の一部の反射率を階調変化させるために、表示パネル２０１を制御するコントロール手段２０２とを備えるとともに、前記コントロール手段２０２が生成する信号を記憶できる第一の記憶手段１０４および第二の記憶手段１０５と、反射シート１１０，１１１の各部の反射率を演算する演算手段１０３と、演算手段１０３が演算した反射率を記憶する第三の記憶手段１０６と、反射率に基づいて前記反射シート１１０，１１１を制御する反射率制御手段１０７とを備える。
