Abstract
The invention relates to a piston for internal combustion machines, having a piston head (10), a piston skirt (14, 14') and piston land (18) form a piston box attaching thereto, and a pin bore (16, 16'), and a method for the production thereof. The invention further relates to a piston pin for use with the piston. The invention relates primarily to the insight that there is a material that has the desired material properties, but cannot be used for producing pistons using the conventional methods of casting or pressing. According to the invention, it is therefore proposed that the piston is made of an injection-compacted aluminum-silicon alloy.
