Abstract

A structural member joint structure can easily install a member in position by using a simple structure having a reduced number of parts and can provide the member with a large fastening force which makes the member less likely to be loosened. The joint structure has a member to be joined installed in a groove provided in a side face of a pillar, a joint piece placed in the groove, making contact with the member to be joined, a female screw thread section provided on the joint piece, penetrating it in the direction toward the member to be joined, and a pressing screw fitted into the female screw thread section. The pressing screw is fitted into the female screw thread section to urge the member to be fastened via the front end of the pressing screw, and this moves both the member to be joined and the joint piece in the directions in which they are separated from each other. As a result, an end of the member to be joined and an end of the joint piece are respectively engaged with lateral opposite ends of the groove of the pillar to establish a firmly fastened condition.
