Abstract

L'invention concerne un matériau diélectrique pour écrans à plasma qui comprend une poudre de verre sans plomb à base de ZnO-B2O3-SiO2-Bi2O3-R2O et qui, malgré cela, donne une couche diélectrique hautement transparente sur un substrat de verre sur laquelle est formée une électrode en argent. la couche diélectrique est moin apte à jaunir et présente un coefficient de dilatation thermique compatible avec le substrat de verre. Le matériau diélectrique peut être brûlé à une température inférieure ou égale à 600°C. L'invention concerne également: un procédé de formation d'une couche diélectrique; une couche diélectrique formée à partir du matériau diélectrique; et une plaque de verre pour écrans à plasma qui présente la couche diélectrique. Le matériau diélectrique pour écrans à plasma comprend une poudre de verre à base de ZnO-B2O3-SiO2-Bi2O3-R2O (où R2O représente des oxydes de métaux alcalins comprenant le Li2O, le Na2O et le K2O). Ledit matériau est caractérisé en ce que la poudre de verre ne contient sensiblement pas de PbO et est constitué d'un verre qui comprend, en termes de pourcentage en masse, entre 45 et 85% de ZnO+B2O3+SiO2, entre 10 et 25% de Bi2O3, entre 0,1 et 10% de R2O, et entre 0,01 et 0,30% de CoO, le rapport R2O/Bi2O3 étant compris entre 0,05 et 0,80 en masse.
