Abstract

Disclosed is an electrode for electrochemical devices, which comprises a collector and an active material layer formed on the collector. The active material layer contains an active material which is capable of reversibly absorbing/desorbing lithium ions and has a theoretical capacity of more than 833 mAh/cm3. The active material layer has a BET specific surface area of not less than 5 m2/g but not more than 80 m2/g.
