Abstract

A hologram recording device (A) comprises a recording light applying means for applying recording light (P) which is modulated by a spatial light modulator (15) according to information to be recorded to a recording medium (B) via an objective lens (19), a recording reference light applying means for applying reference light (S1) such that the reference light interferes with the recording light (P) to form a hologram recording area (T) in the recording medium (B), and an application position displacing means (41, 42) for relatively displacing the positions of application of the recording light (P) and the reference light (S1) with respect to the recording medium (B) such that recording areas (T) are formed side by side in a predetermined direction. While converging the recording light (P) as a whole at the recording medium (B), the objective lens (19) also converges on-axis light flux (P1) and off-axis light flux (P2, P3).
