Abstract

An indoor unit (X) is provided with an air blower (2) which sucks indoor air, an air inlet (3) formed on the front side of the air blower (2), and an air outlet (5) formed adjacent to the air inlet (3). A front panel (8) covers the air inlet (3) and the air outlet (5). The front panel (8) moves to a closed position where the panel is in a flat panel shape when operation of the indoor unit is stopped, and moves to an open position where the air inlet (3) and the air outlet (5) are open when the indoor unit is operated. When operation of the indoor unit is stopped, the front panel (8) has a flat panel structure, and the front surface of the indoor unit is permitted to have a simple and improved design.
