Abstract

An air conditioner in which scattering of condensate water from an air outlet is reduced by a simple structure and that is downsized. An indoor heat exchanger (10) has a first heat exchanger (10a) and a second heat exchanger (10b). The first heat exchanger (10a) is located on the upstream of a cross flow fan (11) relative to the direction of air flow and is tilted such that the lower end of the first heat exchanger (10a) is positioned more to the upstream side than its upper end is. The second heat exchanger (10b) is tilted from a position near the lower end of the first heat exchanger (10a) such that the lower end of the second heat exchanger (10b) is positioned more to the downstream side than its upper end is. Refrigerant flows in the indoor heat exchanger (10). The cross flow fan (11) is placed on the downstream side of a downstream-most scattering trajectory which, among scattering trajectories of water drops from the indoor heat exchanger (10), is located at the downstream-most position. The scattering trajectories are determined by predetermined amounts of air flow from the fan and the speeds of fall of water drops under gravity.
