Abstract

An optical disk medium comprises an information-recording layer (3) and a protective layer (2) covering the information-recording layer (3) and allowing incident light and reflected light to be transmitted therethrough. The information on polarization change indicating the change in the polarization given to the transmitted light when it is transmitted through the protective layer (2) is recorded in the recording medium.
