Abstract

　本発明の課題は、燃料電池の熱サイクルで生じるセパレータの塑性変形を防止し、発電セルの破損を防止することである。本発明においては、発電セル（５）と、反応用ガス通路（１１、１２）を備えたセパレータ（８）とが交互に複数積層されて、その積層体の外周部に、各セパレータ（８）のガス通路（１１、１２）に連通して積層方向に連通する燃料ガスマニホールドと酸化剤ガスマニホールドが設けられるとともに、積層体が積層方向より加重されている。セパレータ（８）は、中央部に発電セル（５）が配設されるインターコネクト部（８ａ）と、インターコネクト部（８ａ）の縁部より延設され、それぞれの端部（８ｃ）が燃料ガスマニホールドおよび酸化剤ガスマニホールドに連結される一対のアーム部（８ｂ）とを備える。アーム部（８ｂ）には積層方向に変位可能となる可撓性が付与されており、且つ、アーム部（８ｂ）の変形が熱サイクル期間において、弾性範囲内に維持されている。
