Abstract

The invention relates to an input device (1) for real and/or screen-supported virtual navigation of a medical instrument in the body of a patient, comprising in addition to two translatory degrees of freedom of movement, at least one additional degree of freedom of movement. Said input device (1) is embodied as a path proportional input device in two dimensions such that in terms of navigation, the movements of the input device can be translated in the two dimensions in real and/or virtual movements of the medical instrument in accordance with the two translatory degrees of freedom of movement. Additional input means are integrated into the input device in such a manner that the actuation of the at least one additional input means in real and/or virtual movements of the medical instrument can be translated in accordance with at least one additional degree of freedom of movement of the medical instrument.
