Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil d'usinage (1) destiné à la production d'articles de prothèse dentaire à partir d'une pièce à usiner (11). L'appareil comprend : un dispositif porte-pièce (13) destiné à la pièce à usiner (11); un identifiant (22) contenant des informations sur la pièce à usiner; et une unité de détection (16) servant à détecter l'identifiant (22). Une unité de détection d'image, située sur la pièce à usiner et conçue pour détecter un identifiant (22) constitué d'une séquence de caractères alphabétiques ou numériques, est installée sur l'unité de détection (16). La séquence de caractères reçoit une valeur de caractère ou de mot absolue au moyen d'une OCR. La valeur de caractère ou la valeur de mot est comparée à une valeur de caractère de référence ou à une valeur de mot de référence, et l'opération d'usinage de l'appareil d'usinage (1) est arrêtée ou ne démarre pas lorsqu'il existe un écart entre ladite valeur et la valeur de référence.
