Abstract

It is intended to attain a thickness reduction and prolongation of life duration for organic EL panel in which an electrode pattern is formed by barrier rib (4). Coating film (7,70,71) is provided covering first electrode (2), barrier rib (4), organic layer (5) and second electrode (6) together with one surface of substrate (1). The coating material constituting the coating film is composed of a moisture absorbing agent and an amorphous organic material, and the coating film is formed so as to be in contact with at least portion of the side face of the barrier rib.
