Abstract

According to the invention, a fiber strand supply unit (32a, 32b, 32c, 32e, 32f, 32g) comprises at least one fibre strand introduction opening (80a, 80b, 80c, 80f, 80g) that leads to a process chamber (76, 136), said process chamber (76, 136) comprising a transfer zone (30a, 30b) that is provided, in at least one operating mode, to be filled to between 30 % and 80 % with a fibre strand additive mixture (92), and at least one first compression area (36) arranged after the fibre strand introduction opening (80a, 80b, 80c, 80f, 80g) and provided to reduce a conveyed gas volume (94) to about at least one quarter of the volume thereof.
