Abstract

【課題】５－｛４－［２－（５－エチル－２－ピリジル）エトキシ］ベンジル｝－２，４－チアゾリジンジオン（一般名：ピオグリタゾン）を、工程数が少なく、かつ高収率で得ることができる製造方法を提供すること。 【解決手段】４－［２－（５－エチル－２－ピリジル）エトキシ］ベンズアルデヒドと２－イミノ－４－チアゾリジノンとを縮合反応させて、中間体として新規化合物の５－｛４－［２－（５－エチル－２－ピリジル）エトキシ］ベンジリデン｝－２－イミノ－４－チアゾリジノンを得、この新規化合物を還元して、５－｛４－［２－（５－エチル－２－ピリジル）エトキシ］ベンジル｝－２－イミノ－４－チアゾリジノンとし、これを加水分解することにより、５－｛４－［２－（５－エチル－２－ピリジル）エトキシ］ベンジル｝－２，４－チアゾリジンジオンを得る。
