Abstract

Provided is a pointer type measuring device having a pointer fed with an illuminating light and an indicator of a homogeneous luminance. The measuring device comprises an indicator (2), a dial (3) having a dial portion (3a) positioned around the indicator (2), a pointer (4) for pointing the dial portion (3a), and a drive unit (5) arranged on the back side of the indicator (2) for turning the pointer (4). The indicator (2) includes a case member (6) for housing an indicating element (7) and an illumination unit (8) at least partially. The case member (6) has an aperture portion (6d) for exposing the indicating element (7) to the outside.The case member (6) is equipped, at its side face or back face other than the portion corresponding to the aperture portion (6d), with an irradiating portion (6e) for irradiating the pointer (4) with the light of the illumination unit (8).
