Abstract

A process comprising the steps of charging a fiber product in appropriate form into a treatment vessel, imparting moisture to the fiber product and thereafter carrying out forced circulation of an ozoniferous liquid while keeping contact with the moistened fiber product to thereby bleach the fiber product; and carrying out forced circulation of a chemical liquid for ozonolysis while keeping contact with the fiber product having undergone the above ozone treatment to thereby effect ozonolysis. In this process, the fiber product can be efficiently bleached by ozone. The thus obtained bleached fiber product has an advantage in the resistance to yellowing over time.
