Abstract

 第1のノード(N1)及び第2のノード(N2)の一方を選択的に走査電極(SC1)に接続するスイッチ回路(Q1,Q2)と、前記第1のノード(N1)と前記第2のノード(N2)との間を第1の電圧(Vscn)に保持するため前記第1のノード(N1)と第3のノード(N3)との間に設けられる電圧保持回路(200)と、前記第2のノード(N2)と前記第3のノード(N3)との間に設けられる保護回路(300)とを備え、前記第1のノード(N1)の電位が変化させられるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置において、前記保護回路(300)は、保護抵抗(R1)と、前記保護抵抗(R1)に並列に接続されコンデンサ(C1)、充電制限抵抗(R2)及びダイオード(Da)からなる整流回路と、前記コンデンサ(C1)に並列に接続される2つの放電抵抗(R3,R4)と、前記2つの放電抵抗(R3,R4)の接続点(N7)の電位に基づいて異常検出信号(SOS)を発生するトランジスタ(Q10)とを備える。
