Abstract

 広ダイナミックレンジ信号についても高効率かつ低歪で増幅することができる送信装置。この装置において、エンベロープ信号の信号レベルに応じて、エンベロープ信号を、基準レベル以上の信号と、基準レベル未満の信号とに分離するレベル分離器と、基準レベル以上の信号をパルス幅変調して、第1のパルス幅変調信号を形成する第1のパルス幅変調器と、基準レベル未満の信号をパルス幅変調して、第2のパルス幅変調信号を形成する第2のパルス幅変調器と、第1の印加電圧が入力され、第1の印加電圧を第1のパルス幅変調信号によってスイッチングして出力する第1のトランジスタと、第1の印加電圧よりも小さい第2の印加電圧が入力され、第2の印加電圧を第2のパルス幅変調信号によってスイッチングして出力する第2のトランジスタと、第1と第2のトランジスタの出力信号との合成信号を平滑化して、電力増幅器の電源端子に出力する平滑回路と、を有する。
