Definitions

  • Cerebral ischemia is the second etiology for death in western countries. It is also the first cause of acquired handicap in adult and the second cause of dementia after Alzheimer disease (WHO report 1999). Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé pour le traitement d'un sujet ayant une insuffisance vasculaire cérébrale. Ledit procédé comporte l'application au sujet d'une pression positive du corps inférieur efficace pour augmenter l'irrigation de la partie supérieure du corps, cérébrale ou oculaire, notamment par l'application d'une pression positive du corps inférieur variant entre 10 et 400 mm Hg. L'insuffisance vasculaire cérébrale est choisie parmi un accident cérébro-vasculaire aigu et un accident cérébro-vasculaire subaigu, une démence vasculaire chronique et la maladie d'Alzheimer. Le trouble oculaire est choisi parmi une neuropathie optique ischémique antérieure, une occlusion artérielle rétinienne ou une dégénérescence maculaire liée à l'âge.
