Abstract

 本発明は、高分子電解質組成物、高分子電解質膜、膜電極接合体、及び、固体高分子電解質型燃料電池等に関する。固体高分子電解質型燃料電池は、ガス拡散電極が高分子電解質膜の両面に接合された、膜電極接合体を備えている。その高分子電解質膜としては、化学的安定性の高い、パーフルオロ系の膜が用いられてきたが、前記燃料電池を自動車用に用いる場合には、温度100℃付近で50℃加湿という高温低加湿条件下での運転が望まれているところ、パーフルオロ系の膜では十分な耐久性が得られていない等の問題があった。本発明は、前記燃料電池において、高分子電解質膜として、イオン交換容量が0.5~3.0 ミリ当量/g の高分子電解質と、チオエーテル基を有する化合物と、アゾール環を有する化合物とを特定量で含有する組成物から成膜される膜を用いること等によって、上記問題の解決を図ったものである。
