Abstract

A battery can has a cylindrical side portion, a bottom portion and an opening. The surface roughness (Ra) of the entire inner surface of the cylindrical side part is 0.01-0.1 μm or smaller. The battery can is obtained by the process of ironing with an ironing ratio of 45-80%, and the exposure of the iron on the inner surface of the cylindrical side part of the battery can is suppressed.
