Disclosed is a photochemical cell comprising a semiconductor particle sensitized with a binuclear ruthenium complex dye having high absorption coefficient and excellent electron mobility, and an electrolyte solution mainly containing an ionic liquid. This photochemical cell exhibits high conversion efficiency.
