Definitions
- the present invention relates to a package for at least two-component or multicomponent glues, paints, varnishes , fillers or the like .
- Plastic or plasti ⁇ ized pouches or containers which are used for containing liquid materials or powder components .
- the various components that form the mixture i.e. the materials of the mixture to be used, are sold in separate packages , each containing a certain amount of product, for more than one-time use thereof.
- packages have to be purchased to obtain a usable mixture, and the user has to accurately select the doses of each component to be mixed to obrain a sufficient amount of compound having chemieo-physical properties that make it suitable for use .
- Market research surveys show that users require mixtures of components to provide a product, e.g. a filler, that always has the same characteristics, particularly the same consistency at each application. Such market research surveys have indicated optimal amounts of product to be contained in each package, for fulfilling users' requirements.
- a product e.g. a filler
- the object of the present invention is to provide a package for two-component or multicomponent glues , paints, varnishes, fillers or the like, that might simply and inexpensively obviate the drawbacks of prior art packages .
- the invention fulfils the above objects by providing a package as defined in the preamble of claim 1 , wherein said package is single-dose package) .
- such package contains 75 g of product, i.e. an amount indicated by market research surveys as optimal in 70% of cases.
- this invention covers packages containing from 5 to 250 g of product.
- Such package is designed as a pouch having at least one partly or wholly open side and comprising a continuous seal seam which intersects the open edge, and a sealed edge of said walls , so that the interior space of the package is divided into at least two mutually non-communicating portions , each communicating with a part of the open edge .
- the interior space of the package may be also divided by multiple continuous seams into more than two mutually non-communicating portions , particularly three portions , each of said portions communicating with the open edge part.
- An advantageous embodiment of the present package comprises two walls or sheets sealingly interconnected along a part of their edges and forming an opening at one edge of said walls.
- such package is designed as a pouch having three sides, i.e. two lateral sides and one bottom side, sealed together and one fourth side designed for easy opening.
- the open side is closed by an area of chemico- physical bonding of the inner surfaces of the walls , located near the open edge .
- This area or continuous seal seam is as thick as to ensure a perfect seal of the pouch with no risk of accidental leakages of its content .
- notches and tear-off lines are provided near the means for closing the opening, which allow the package to be opened by slightly twisting the edges at the notches and tearing the walls off along a predetermined line.
- the interior space of the package may be divided into at least two mutually non-communicating portions, each communicating with a part of the open edge, by means of a continuous seal seam which intersects the open edge and a sealed edge of said walls .
- seal seam intersects the lateral edge of the pouch package and the open edge at half the length of their respective sides .
- the interior space of the package may be also divided into more than two mutually non-communicating portions, particularly three portions. In this case, two or more seal seams are required, which intersect the open edge and at least one sealed edge of the walls of the package to divide the pouch into multiple portions .
- the embodiment of the pouch with three mutually non-communicating portions has two seal seams both intersecting the open edge and one sealed edge of the walls, thereby forming two portions of smaller size than the third main portion, on one side of the package.
- the seal seams may be also arranged to intersect by one end the open edge and by the opposite end the opposite lateral edges of the package: in this case the pouch has a central portion of larger size than the two portions at the sides of said central portion .
- the two lateral sheets or walls are sealingly interconnected not directly but through a third bottom wall, of rectangular shape, to form a larger interior volume than might be obtained by simply joining two walls.
- a third wall imparts a substantially pyramidal shape to the package, thereby facilitating its arrangement on display racks or shells .
- An advantageous embodiment of the package of the present invention has clear windows on the package walls for easy identification of the amount of product in the packages, without having to open them.
- the package has means for easy dispensing of the product, such as keys on the bottom side of the pouch to allow rolling of the package walls on themselves and easy dispensing of the filler or materials from the upper part of the package.
