Abstract

【課題】電磁ブレーキ・電磁攪拌兼用コイルにおいて、メニスカス下の電磁攪拌性能をも優れたものとする。 【解決手段】鋳型長辺の外周に配置した電磁コイルに直流電流又は３相交流電流を通電することにより、鋳型内溶鋼に電磁ブレーキ又は電磁攪拌を選択的に作用させて鋼を連続鋳造する方法である。電磁コイル５は、各長辺に２ｎ個のティース部５ａを有し、各ティース部５ａは、外側に夫々巻き線５ｃを施し、さらに２個宛、外側に巻き線５ｄを施してひとまとめになす。各ティース部５ａを有する電磁コイル５のコア部５ｂを、メニスカスから浸漬ノズル１の吐出孔１ａ位置までの鉛直方向の範囲に配置する。鋳型３内の溶鋼２を電磁攪拌する際には、メニスカス下の溶鋼２中に誘起される電磁力を、浸漬ノズル１の吐出孔１ａ位置に誘起される電磁力の２倍以上とする。 【効果】メニスカス下においても良好な攪拌流を形成できる。
