Abstract

本発明は、圧力損失が低く、かつ、ＰＭの捕集効率が高いハニカムフィルタを提供することを目的とするものであり、本発明のハニカムフィルタは、主として無機繊維からなり、複数の貫通孔が壁部を隔てて長手方向に並設され、各々の貫通孔における端部のいずれか一方が目封じされてなる柱状のハニカムフィルタであって、上記無機繊維が、貫通孔の形成方向により多く配向し、一体成形された柱状のハニカム構造体と、上記無機繊維が、貫通孔の形成方向に対して垂直方向により多く配向し、貫通孔が上記ハニカム構造体の貫通孔と重なり合うように上記ハニカム構造体の両端面にそれぞれ積層される積層部材と、上記ハニカム構造体及び上記積層部材が配設される金属容器と、上記金属容器の両端部に固定された端部用部材とからなり、上記金属容器内で、上記ハニカム構造体と上記積層部材とが、上記端部用部材により固定されていることを特徴とする。
