Abstract

The invention relates to a method for setting the driving states of a motor vehicle, comprising the steps of providing environmental data, determining a future vehicle situation as a function of the environmental data and setting a vehicle state in accordance with the determined future driving situation. The environmental data include, for example, the type of road, the road trajectory, the wheel slip resulting from ABS or ESP information, distances to other vehicles and information on traffic jams.
