Abstract

 エンジンへの燃料供給の停止時に触媒1を加熱するヒータ2と、加熱された触媒1に酸化性ガス又は還元性ガスを供給するポンプ4と、切り替えバルブ3と、からなる再生装置とした。酸化工程では、貴金属に吸着しているHCなどの被毒物質が酸化されて除去され、貴金属粒子が純粋な酸化物などの酸化状態となる。その後に還元工程を行うことで、貴金属粒子は還元されると同時に担体上で再分散され、微細な貴金属粒子となる。したがって、触媒の使用を中断することなく、かつドライバビリティを悪化させることなく、劣化した触媒を再生することができる。
