Description

FILTER FOR THE PURIFICATION OF THE TOBACCO SMOKE. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1: Field of the Invention
The field of invention relates to the use of a compound previously well-known for numerous more objects, but now all the same compound can to be used for the purification of the tobacco smoke. 2. Description of the Prior Art
Two sorts of filters for the purification of the tobacco smoke has been provided 'in the prior art to permit the purification of the tobacco smoke before its entrance in the mouth of the smoker. A sort is a small cylinder of cellulose acetate, a synthetic substance on fibrous consistence. The other sort is a small cylinder on plastic material with the two extremities perforated and containn ing granules of silica gel.
The above-mentioned well-know filters have the drawback to keep back only a small part of the tar contained in the tobacco smoke. The other part, the greater part, wich contains the more important number of harmful compounds contained in the tobacco smoke enter in the smoker organism.
Substantially the cellulose acetate filter is a small cylinder on syntetic substance of fibrous consistence which mechanically stops a small percentage of the harmful compounds contained in the tobacco smoke . Also the other sort of well-known filter with silica gel granules has the same drawback: keep back only a small part of the tar contained in the tobacco smoke. The more harmful compounds come in the respiratory organs of the smoker. It is therefore the object of the" presente invention to provide a new and improved filter which pull out all the harmful substances before that the tobacco smoke enter in the mouth and in the respiratory organs of the smoker.
The present t invention make known that the granules of Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCU3) pull aut from the tobacco smoke and retain the totality of the harmful substances following: (CH3-CO-CH3) Acetone, (As) Arsenic, (C4Hi0) Butane, (Cd) Cadmium, (Pb) Lead, (CH2θ)Formaldehyde, (NH3) Ammonia, 2-Naptilamine, 4- Aminobifenil, (Po) Polonio 210 (radioactive), Nitrogen Oxides, N-Nitrous Dimethyilamine, N-Nitrosodiethylamine, (CHOH5NH?) Various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be had to the accompanying drawing and descriptive matter in which there is il lustrated preferred embodiments of the i n vention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The invention will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof.
Such description makes reference to the annexed drawing wherein: FIG. 1 is an approximately scale 2: 1 of the longitudinal section of a cigarette provided with the filter of the instant invention. FIG. 2 is an approximately scale 2: 1 of the longitudinal section of a filter according to the instant invention, formed by a little hollow cylinder, with the two extremity and filled of granules of Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3). FIG. 3 is an approximately scale 1 : 1 *of a cigarette holder with a cigarette and with an inside cavity to contain a filter like the filter drawing in the fig.2.
In a similar way to drawed in fig. 3 is realized the top of a . pipe and a big cigar holder. The little cylindric tube 1 is made of thin paper wrapping the cut tobacco contained in the space 2, and contain also the inside diaphragm 3, the filter 4 and the end diaphragm 5. Merely for the lucidity of the drawing, the cut tobacco is not drawed in he space 2. The diaphragm 3 and 5 are cellulose acetate short cylinders, a fibrous syntetic substance. The diaphragm 3 and 5 let the smoke pass, but stop the granules, the flakes and the powder of Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3) in the filter 4.
The filter 4 is formed too by a little cylinder of cellulose acetate or similar, but containing innumerable granules, flakes and powder of (NaHCO3) Sodium Bicarbonate. In the cigarette drawed in the fig. 1 , instead of the filter 4 may be contained the filter 6 drawed in the fig. 2. It is a cylindrical container 7 with inlet holes 8 and outlet holes 9 for the flow of the smoke, and its inside is full of granules, flakes and powder of Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3) 10. The container 7 is made of yelding, atoxic and fireproofing material.
The cigarette holder 1 1 has a bushing 12, engageable and disengageable in the pipe mouthpiece 13, for the cigarettel4. In the inside of the cigarette holder 11 , the're is a chamber 15 with dimensions equal to the outer surface of the filter 6 to contain.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only bf the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications, and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact costi uction and operation shown and described, and accordingly all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
